Overhearing an Argument on the Morality of Writing Body Horror from my Federally-Protected Seat on Bay Area Rapid Transit

Don’t you have a body? And aren’t you afraid? The glassy surface of a healing burn stares back, pleasant and attentive as a stuffed stag’s head. Like it was getting paid. I wish I was getting paid for this. “Please hold on,” chimes the sweet voice of the train angel as we lurch forward into the clouds above a painted, peeling city. So she does have desires. O you who cannot rot, pray for us.
